Description
Antique Italian Brazier from the late 18th Century or early 19th Century
in walnut and copper.
Braziers were used in an ancient times up to the late 1800’s to hold
burning coal as well as fires for heating, cooking or lighting.
The brazier presented here is attributed to the Duke of Suno.
The embossed copper that clads the top of the brazier has the following inscription:
"Duque Dos Suno", with the embossed profile of the "duke"
and the fleur-de-lys.
Suno is a town in the Northwestern area of Italy,
which was under the French in the 18-19th Century.
